Where Has The Time Gone?!?!
I find it amazing that this is my first entry for 2008! Have I been slacking? With the blog, YES! With everything else, NO!
It appears that working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week has taken it's toll, sort of. I work for the weekends to have a couple of days off and it starts over again. Before you know it, it's half way through the year and everything seems like a blur. Then summer arrives; the kids are back in school; I'm past out on the couch from too much turkey; setting up Christmas decorations; and singing "Auld Lang Syne" with friends and champagne!
Honestly, I'm not use to this. I'm not complaining about how fast time goes by. Wait a minute! Actually, I am! I purposely veg at home to make time slow down, but that doesn't help. I'll play couch potato on Friday night and BAM! It's Sunday evening and I have to get ready for the 5 day grind!
I want to stop and smell the roses, but by the time I think about them, they're already out of sight! It unfortunate that I have to schedule "rose smelling" on my calendar to make sure that I smell the roses on the way.
What does it take to put the brakes on life (or at least slow it down to 10mph)?
Finally, to all of you that have been reading, my sincere apologies. This is what happens when one initially has too much time on one's hands that turns into not enough time to type a few thoughts on one's blog!

It's Mealtime!
There moving all over the house. I don't get it. It looks like they're putting clothes in a big suitcase. One daddy is going that way; the other is going the other way. I can't keep up. I going to settle on my perch here on the coach and wait for things to die down a bit. Where's that bone? Me chewing on that bone will kill lots of time. It was here on the rug last time. Did they hide it on me again? I hate when they do that. It taste good. I just chew, chew, chew, chew, chew......
OK, where's that bone? Let me look in the bedroom. No. Let me look in the other bedroom. No. Ohhhh, but there's my bear! I'll just grab that sucker and take that in the living room. Hmmm..... I smell something tasty in the bag. It's got small holes on the side. I smell something tasty. I think it's my bone. How do I get in there? What's that? I hear someone in the kitchen. I might get some food!
Yup, daddy is cooking. Smells good. I'll just sit here and see what I get. Oh something fell to the floor. Let me just take a quick sniff. YUCK! He's opening the fridge. I see a something. YES!! It's chicken! There he goes to the white box that heats things up. He's grabbing my bowl. I smell chicken! My favorite! He's putting it in the bowl! He's placing it on the floor! Time to eat! But wait. Let me look at it first. It might be chicken. It smells like it. What are these other things in the bowl? I don't know why they keep feeding me these dry, crunchy things. All I want is the chicken! Gimme chicken. Chicken, chicken, chicken, chicken!
