Why I'm Thankful!

I've been recently reached by one of my friends in SFO (and you know who you are!), and was reminded that blogging is about writing in it. (And pretty does get me far YOU BITCH!)

My last blog was about a month ago. Where has the time gone! Well, it's gone to the new job, which is a perfect segway for the first reason why I'm thankful! I never thought that in my career as a trolley dolly that I would find myself in a position where I can influence the careers of future flight attendants. Although my influence hasn't been more direct, like the instructors, I know that the advice I give these new kids will take them a long way. Granted, there have been challenges towards my skills and my confidence, but when they call me for assistance and advice, it reassures me that the path I have taken is the right one, and is all worthwhile. Seeing all of them in their uniforms and receiving their wings on graduation day gave me a sense of pride. I had a part of that. What a nice feeling. I know the feeling will be more worthwhile when I have a more direct influence on the students. Next class comes through in January, so there's a breather.

When my SFO friend e-mailed me, I am reminded of the good friends I've made along the way. So with that said, I'm thankful for my friends. I'm also reminded that this blog is a way for me to communicate with them. Although I don't receive any response, they're still there reading away about the goings-on with me, my partner, and Lucky. It's good to know that there are readers out there, and I don't want to lose that.

Speaking of my partner and Lucky, we are doing fine in Everett. No real complaints. Lucky will be posting his latest within the next couple of days. I know he's had a some new experiences since last month, and his social calendar has been so full (I didn't know that a dog could be so busy!), I know his paws are dying to burn on the keyboard! With that, I'm thankful for Darren and Lucky. I know this sounds sappy, but it's amazing how my life has been since we've been together. Thanks for being my support and my love. And once we find a notary, we will official register our partnership with the state of Washington (with Darren, not with Lucky!)

And finally, I'm thankful for my mom. She's all the family I have, and I know it's been hard for her since my move to SEA. However, as mom's always is, she's been a rock, an independent, and a strength of a woman. That is something I will always strive for (yes, even the woman part!)

So to everyone out there, take a private moment for yourself, among the family, friends, and chaos of dinner, and reflect on what you're thankful for. It does bring life into perspective.

Happy Thanksgiving!
